Introducing the Apia Local Legends – the Golf Series. Apia has scoured the country to find and celebrate some Local Legends with great stories to tell, passion for the game of golf and their club. Golf is one of the most popular sports in Australia and is a great way to stay active and social in retirement. There are many ways to get involved in the sport, through membership at your local golf club, joining Golf Australia’s Get into Golf program, volunteering at or attending one Golf Australia’s events through the year or just catching up with friends at the driving range for a hit.

Anne

Anne Meadlycott is a long-time member of the Tasmanian golfing community and spearheads the Golf Southern Tasmania Club that aims to promote community involvement and provide pathways for women in golf.  She is passionate about the game and is committed to making a difference in her community.

Neil

Neil Brown has been a part of Golf South Australia and the Blackwood Golf Course for over 38 years. A dedicated volunteer across many Adelaide golf events, previous Club Captain and participant in countless committees won him a Volunteer of the Year Award. Neil’s love of the game and selfless commitment to his club and community is legendary.

Chris and Sandy

Chris and Sandy Collingwood are long-time contributors to the Keysborough golfing community. The dedicated husband and wife team have volunteered over 31 years to their club across a number of roles and are the first husband and wife team to become life members.

Known for their community spirit and love of golf, watch to learn more on how this duo have contributed to their golf club and its community.

Wednesday Warriors

Rail, hail or shine you will find the Wednesday Warriors working out on the course at Mawson Lakes. The group of volunteers have been active at the club for over 20 years and were recently awarded the Apia South Australian Metropolitan Volunteer of the Year for their commitment and service to the club and community.
